A space battleship is a space warship in science fiction which
functions similarly to a contemporary battleship. It usually
transport pilot fighters as well as heavy defensive and
offensive armament. These ships often lead fleets or
battlegroups comprised of manysmaller and specialized
spacecraft.
Unidentifed Flying Object (UFOs)
An unidentified flying object, or UFO, is any apparent flying object
which cannot be identified by the observer and which remains
unidentified after investigation. The term flying saucer is also
sometimes used.
Space Rocket
NASA's Space
System (STS), is the spacecraft currently used by the United
States government for its human spaceflights missions.
Space Platform
It is an artificial earth satellite, usually manned, that is placed in a
fixed orbit that can be used for a variety of purposes, as to assemble
or service satellites, refuel spacecrafts, to serve as a base for
astronomical observations
Space Probe
It is a space vehicle carrying sophisticated instrumentation but no
crew, designed to explore various aspects of the Solar system.
Unlike an artificial satellite, which is placed in more or less
permanent orbit around the earth, a space probe is launched with
enough energy to escape the gravitational field of the earth and
navigate among the planets.
Space Shuttle
It is a vehicle in which people travel into space and, it is reusable, it
touches down on a landingstrip after an orbital mission sometimes
carrying a satellite or other equipment into orbit
Satellite
It is a specialized receiver/transmitterthat is launched by a rocket
and placed in orbit around the earth. There are hundreds of
satellites currently in operation. They are used for such diverse
purposes as weather forecasting, television broadcast, amateur
radio communications, Internet communications, and the Global
Positioning System, (GPS).
Space Station
It is a vehicle designed to be occupied by a crew for extended periods
of time, outside the atmosphere, doing scientific tests.
